Evelyn Rhyant was born in Fort Pierce, Florida to the late Jonathan and Louise Ingram. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at a very young age and has been a life-long Christian since that time. Evelyn is currently enjoying her membership with the Zion Baptist Church located in the Marietta/Atlanta, Georgia area.
As a young girl, Evelyn commenced the educational process in the Fort Pierce, Florida area elementary schools and culminated her high school studies by graduating from the nationally renowned Lincoln Park Academy High School in 1969. She continued her studies at the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education in 1973. Evelyn continued to pursue her educational goals and completed her studies for a Masters of Education from Butler University. In an effort to further broaden her professional skills, she attended various educational conferences and seminars.
As a tenured educator with thirty-one (31) years of experience, Evelyn’s outstanding achievements have been duly noted. During her tenure, she was chosen as teacher of the year three times. The graduating seniors recognized her for eight (8) years as the most influential teacher who greatly impacted their lives. They presented her with the Senior Choice Award and Evelyn also received the Five Top 30 Award by seniors graduating in the top thirty (30) percentile of a nine hundred graduating senior class. These are very significant accomplishments considering she taught these graduating seniors in 2nd or 3rd grade. Evelyn also used her educational skills to serve her church as a Sunday school teacher at Crooked Creek Baptist. Additionally, she served on the Board of Education of her church, the Deaconess Board, and served as Assistant Youth Director. Her ministry involves visitations with the sick and shut-ins, and social feeding programs. Over the years, Evelyn has involved herself in numerous community service activities including charitable events and walk-a-thons for varied causes.
Currently, she is an active member of the non-profit socially active Missionary Network, Inc., (“the Network”) a spiritually motivated prayer ministry dedicated to serving the homeless, mentally ill, drug addicted, socially deprived and spiritually needy in the local communities. The Network accomplishes its mission by conducting a continual prayer ministry hosting a 24/7 prayer line and actively partnering with local agencies.
Evelyn has partnered with The Network through the financial ministry of the Lee and Evelyn Rhyant’s Family Foundation which provides gifts to educational and religious organizations in memory of Jonathan and Louise Ingram and Harding and Evelyn Rhyant; their parents.
She is married to Lee Rhyant, President & CEO of LR Solutions, Inc. and Retired Executive Vice President & General Manager of Lockheed Martin, Marietta. She is the mother of Dr. Roderick and Dr. Broderick Rhyant. The twins are practicing medical doctors and have earned great accolades in their respective fields of medicine.
